Unfortunately, the Oregon State Capitol burned in 1935

And was replaced by a bit of a wedding-cake topper — or maybe a Mormon temple.  Today, The Golden Man shines proudly in the sun.

My next door neighbors Peter and Alice are committed to growing all their own food.  In fact they use every available spot to grow food.  Consequently, they have no lawn and no grass clippings to keep their compost going. So, once a week I fill the orange bucket with extra clippings and set it out by their alley compost bins and the latest raised beds.
