It looked like this on June 12:
And today, August 28, it has become Fish Meadow, as it does every summer.
So, we ended up not actually kayaking, but we did spot some interesting wildlife.
And we had a lovely lunch overlooking the North Santiam.
And one of our number, who shall remain nameless, enjoyed the most amazing-looking bacon cheeseburger, homemade potato chips and marionberry cobbler, and is looking very satisfied — but I’m not bitter.
Do you mean Frog Lake? Or is this a different seasonal lake? I will always remember riding there for two reasons:
1. There was no lake at Frog Lake
2. There was no trail half way into Frog Lake trail.
Actually it was closed, but we didn’t pass the sign until we were on our way OUT and it was facing the other way. Our horses did well by us skimming the eroded edge of the Cascade mountain right off the Pacific Crest Trail.
Fish and Frog are two different lakes. Fish is right across the road from Clear Lake. Frog Lake sounds like an amazing place to ride — even when the non-existant trail is closed. Is it, like Fish Lake, actually a lake during the rainy season? You remember the rainy season?
