Okay. It is officially late August, and I am officially on my annual-very-strict-late-August diet. It consists entirely of:
That’s Olathe corn, peaches from Green’s Bridge, tomatoes from the garden, and a loaf of harvest white from Great Harvest. I pick the tomatoes when they are so ripe they fall off in my hand. Never, ever put them in the refrigerator. I have them on the harvest white with no lettuce no bacon and a little bit of — actually — lots of mayo. Oh, I guess I forgot to mention that whenever I am out and about, I do generally stop off at Burgerville for three gigantic rings of fried Walla Wallas.
